welcome, welcome

Yay, I’m an aunt. He’s 6 lbs, 6 oz., 18″ long, and he was born before any of us made it to the hospital – very early, and apparently mostly very easily. He was a little premature (supposed to be born Nov. 11), and so he’s in an oxygen hood thing and can’t be picked up. He actually looked a little scary – he made little crying/grunting/wheezing noises every time he breathed, and his little chest was heaving, almost fluttering. Lori was very freaked out by the oxygen hood thing and the fact that she can’t pick him up – I have to admit, I was quite unsettled by seeing him all hooked up to things, so I can understand why this would have upset her. Still, everyone says he’s going to be OK, so I will take them at their words.
