Hm, well, it’s been a pretty good day. Woke up with only minor tooth pain after last night’s storm of anguish, so that was nice. No computer class today – officially, not just skipping like usual – so that, too, was very nice. Spent some time investigating the mysterious piles of paper hanging out around my house and found – finally, in a plastic folder-binder thing – my missing Hastings W2 forms. Whew. To celebrate, I went to Wal-Mart and bought envelopes to mail off the taxes along with some Advil to conquer the resurgent toothache. I took the Advil with some lovely 2004 vintage Pepsi at Uno’s, where I read more of The Amazing Adventures of Kavalier and Clay and enjoyed some four cheese pizza. Then I went to see Ella Enchanted at the local theater, where I was surrounded by small children and some very tasty concessions. The movie was OK — it was trying a little too hard to be a live-action Shrek in some parts, but still, it was amusing. Not a favorite, probably something better saved for video, but cute.
Also today, I e-mailed my boss to say I’d be out nursing my tooth — this was at the height of today’s pain, when all I could think was, it’s going to get worse and I’m going to have to find a dentist ASAP — and finally brought up the fact that I might not be around this summer. She said it would be OK as long as I’d be back in August. Woo-hoo! victory is mine, and so, very soon, is Florence. That was the last thing I needed to make up my mind 100 percent in favor of going, so — tonight, I think I will fill out all the paperwork. Yay! Yay!
