Sometimes I’m just a parrot

Today is World AIDS Day, and HRC sent out an e-mail requesting calls to Secretary of Health and Human Services Tommy Thompson, pushing for a definition of AIDS/HIV patients as a special population. My understanding of this designation is that it would allow for more funding and, therefore, less out-of-pocket cost for people with HIV/AIDS on Medicare and Medicaid. To quote HRC, Directly from HRC: Today, Wednesday, December 1st, call the office of Health and Human Services Secretary Tommy Thompson, and say:

“I am calling to urge Secretary Thompson to treat people with HIV as a special population in the Medicare prescription drug law regulations so people with AIDS have affordable access to the drugs they need to stay alive.”

You can call either of the numbers below. Make sure you ask to be directed to the Secretary’s office.
