Concertfest, Sin City

It’s no Coachella, but there are three concerts coming up in the Kansas City/Lawrence area that I very much would like to attend — if anyone around here is interested in going with me, let me know in the next few weeks and I can pick up tickets locally (and, with some luck, avoid some of the ticketmaster charges).

The Shins – Sunday, May 8, Liberty Hall, Lawrence. Tickets: $20.
Keane – Sunday, May 15, Uptown in KC. Tickets: $25.
Jack Johnson – Friday, August 26, Starlight in Kansas City. Tickets: $35.

Also, for Lawrence area people — opening night Sin City viewing, anyone? It’s this Friday.

YES to Sin City! Definitely one of my most anticipated films of the year.

I like The Shins, but I’m not really much of a concert guy. Maybe we can get a report after it’s over?

Woo-hoo, Sin City! Do you have a preferred time? 7ish, 9ish?

  3. tmseay says:

Hmm. I’d prefer to get into a show that isn’t too terribly crowded — or at least get there early enough to get decent seats — but on opening night, either one is tough. Eh, 9ish sounds like the better bet, probably…

There’s a 10:00 show scheduled for Friday night. I’m wary of the crowds, too, but I can’t see a way to avoid them in the evenings, and I can’t do Friday afternoon because of work. I suppose Saturday at 1ish might not be too crowded, but… it’s twelve more hours to wait!

  5. tmseay says:

How do you feel about going to the 10:00 PM show and getting there twenty or thirty minutes early to dodge the worst rush for seats?

  6. kepkanation says:

    That works great for me.

We are a big maybe – if we feel up to it and the concert is out by 9:30 then I will give you a call and tell you to save us seats, otherwise if you dont’ hear from us assume we won’t make it
