Stars for Cutie

I love hearing that one band I like likes another band I love.  Over at The Onion A.V. Club, Torquil Campbell of Stars talks about five songs off his iPod, one of which is Death Cab for Cutie’s “Summer Skin.”

It’s a gorgeous track—it’s the one that reminds me the most of Stars, in a way. It’s like where us and Death Cab intersect, because it’s got that kind of looping rhythm to it that we used on “Heart” and a couple of other songs.

Totally agree.  And with everything else he says.  I’m considering driving down to see DC4C when they’re in Oregon, but as of yet haven’t talked myself into the trip.  I’ve already pre-ordered DC4C’s next album, having listened to the first (way long) track and very much enjoyed it.  I think there are only about five bands I would pre-order, anymore.  Maybe only three.

The A.V. Club’s ongoing playlist feature — Random Rules — is pretty cool, by the way.

Heyyy, um, DC4C is coming to McDonald Theatre, so if there’s still tickets you don’t need to drive out of town.

Yeah, but sadly that show is sold out. Also, the Bend show is Death Cab AND the Decemberists. Woo!

Stars! I have a little crush on Amy.
